There are many manufacturers and brands so what is the differences.
 Let us take a moment and talk about this.

Dyneema is the most common material used in which ropes 

What is Dyneema? 

Dyneema is an UHMwPE (Ultra High Molecular weight Polyethylene) or
HMPE (High Modulus Polyethylene) fibre developed by DSM in the
Netherlands some 30 years ago. Known as the world’s strongest,
lightest fiber – 15 times stronger than steel, yet floats on water –.

So what makes Dyneema so special? 
  
High Strength: On a weight for weight basis, Dyneema  is 15 times stronger than steel wire 
Light Weight: Size for size, a rope made with Dyneema  is 8 times lighter than steel wire rope.  
Water resistant: Dyneema  is hydrophobic and does not absorb water, meaning it remains light when working in wet conditions.  
It Floats: Dyneema  has a Specific Gravity of 0.97 which means it floats in water (specific gravity is a mesure of density. Water has an SG of 1, so anything with SG<1 will float and an SG>1 means it will sink)  
Chemical resistance: Dyneema® is chemically inert, and performs well in dry, wet, salty and humid conditions, as well as other situations where chemicals are present.  
UV Resistant: Dyneema® has very good resistance to photo degradation, maintaining its performance when exposed to UV light 
 
As a base material Dyneema is a fantastic option for strong ropes that are resilient to the abuse Synthetic Winch Ropes are subjected to.  

A.R.E. Synthetic Winch Rope
A new type of Synthetic Winch Rope recently came from A.R.E. Offroad. Synthetic Winch Lines from A.R.E. Offroad use a blend of material using Kevlar Dyneema and Urethane. 


  















Arachni Synthetic Rope is 15 times stronger than steel on an equal weight basis, yet, at the same time, is lightweight, flexible and comfortable.  
Ropes are rated up to 30,000 Lbs and made with a kevlar blend making it an ideal product to run against the drum without fear of degradation.  
Fibers of Arachni consist of long molecular chains produced from poly-paraphenylene terephthalamide. The chains are highly oriented with strong interchain bonding which result in a unique combination of properties. 
 General Features of Arachni Rope:

•         Low Elongation to Break High Modulus (Structural Rigidity) 
•         Excellent Dimensional Stability 
•         High Cut Resistance 
•         Flame Resistant, Self-Extinguishing 
These 12-Strand ropes are extremely strong with minimal stretch and very good abrasion resistance. Ropes are urethane coated for extra abrasion resistance. Ropes are cut to length and come with a 6 foot rock protector sleeve Metal Thimble and heat shrink protection. 

When switching to a synthetic Winch Rope it is important to make the necessary modifications to your recover process. 
  
Synthetic Winch Ropes must use a Hawse smooth Fairlead. The reason you need a Hawse fairlead is the material is soft and while it is abrasion resistant, metal roller style fairleads can develop nicks and burs that will degrade the ropes and fray or tear the rope. 







  
It is important to clean your winch rope. We recommend cleaning your rope with a standard low chemical dish soap and not to use strong degreasers or chemicals. To clean your rope simply unspool your rope and hose off. Use dish soap and a bucket of water and a towel and simply wipe a section of the rope down and rinse off with water. Once the rope is done we recommend letting the rope dry for an hour before spooling.
